Objectives: |
Improve and Modernize the building image: an identifiable double skin solution, compatible with the requested intervention area but providing coherence with no-intervention facades. The new skin floats independent from the building volume, composed by white, opaque and self-cleaning KRION Lux panels in a alternated pattern disposed over a secondary metal structure. White skin, in dialogue with neighbor “Ciudad de las Ciencias” buildings, during the day changes its color through a robotized sequential lighting to obtain a more dynamic, powerful and complex image at night. |
Minimize the new facade´s maintenance and solve the existing facade rehabilitation by cleaning, restoration, waterproofing and anchors reinforcement proposals. |
Commercial area will be enlarged inside, maintaining mall´s current functionality. |
Improve the current main entrance, as an attraction pole to identify the mall. The Tower is covered by the double skin used in main facade, enlarging its proportion and height to improve the trademark image as a landmark. |
Generate a street-level new open public space. The existing vegetation witch hides the building is replaced by water layer working as a mirror for the new facade and a cool environmental element. |
Add a new access to the terraced area located on the second floor through a staircase that flies over the water layer. |
Increase open commercial surface giving value to underused deck spaces, as an outdoor leisure Chill Out space. |
